SIZE still matters for vain, old Men
That was the first
thing I heard about the proposed Hall for Hemingbrough Community Centre. As it was spoken by a Member of Hemingbrough
Parish Council, and most Councillors had pledged to fight for a Centre when seeking election, I
thought he was talking about a Parish Council project.
Wrong!
What do you think
of when someone mentions a community hall for a village?
Hemingbrough
Chapel Community Hall, Cliffe Village Institute, Osgodby Village Institute, Wressle
Village Hall, Airmyn Memorial Hall ……
The “State of the
Art” Community/Leisure Centre for Hemingbrough maybe sited close to the
village school, close to new houses on congested roads where “20 mph is Plenty”
and close to a dangerous junction with the A63. It is intended “to involve all
residents in that area (Selby District Council Eastern CEF).
The Eastern CEF area
consists of Barlby, Biggin, Cawood, Cliffe, Escrick, Hemingbrough, Kelfield, Lund,
North Duffield, Osgodby, Riccall, Ryther, Skipwith, South Duffield, Stillingfleet,
Thorganby, Wistow
